Microsoft Official Website Updates Windows 11 ISO Disc Images: Version 25H2 Makes a Stunning Debut!
On September 30, 2025, Microsoft officially released the latest Windows 11 25H2 ISO images on its official website, including versions for the ARM platform.
Is this Microsoft’s National Day gift for us? :-)
This article will provide a detailed analysis of the features of these versions.
Windows 11 25H2 ISO Image Overview
When releasing version 25H2, Microsoft provided multiple ISO image variants. The image size is 7.24GB, which is significantly larger compared to previous versions.
Windows 11 25H2 is not a completely new operating system but is built on top of the existing 24H2, enabling or activating certain features that were already included but disabled through a so-called “Enablement Package.”
Although 25H2 does not bring sweeping functional changes, it does include some important updates, feature consolidations, and removals.
- Feature code developed on 24H2 is fully enabled in 25H2. In other words, 25H2 is more about “feature activation rather than new additions.”
- Removal of some outdated components: For example, PowerShell 2.0 and WMIC (Windows Management Instrumentation CLI) have been officially removed.
- Enhanced security/build/runtime vulnerability detection and improvement mechanisms.
Microsoft has explicitly stated that 25H2 will not introduce exclusive new features at launch — meaning if you’re using 24H2, many features are already visible in that version (just disabled).
25H2 is more of a “support lifecycle reset” version, designed to extend the system’s update period rather than introduce new gimmicks.
Here are the versions released this time:
1. Home China Edition: Suitable for personal users and home use. The 25H2 Home edition optimizes system security and privacy protection, with upgrades in application control and network security settings for home network environments.
However, as a daily-use system, I strongly advise against using the Home China Edition. Compared to the Pro and Enterprise editions, the Home China Edition includes fewer features and is less powerful.
2. Pro Edition: Targeted at small and medium-sized business users, offering more management tools and security features. This version is the top choice for many small business users. 25H2 brings optimizations to Task Manager and File Explorer.
For regular individual users, I recommend using the Windows 11 Pro edition. The Pro edition offers comprehensive features. While not as powerful as the Enterprise edition, it provides more user-friendly features and pre-installed software compared to the Enterprise edition.
3. Education Edition: Primarily used in schools and educational institutions, offering features optimized for educational environments, such as multi-user management, parental controls, and learning tools.
Generally, there is no need to install the Education edition. In fact, there is no functional difference between the Education and Pro editions.
4. Enterprise Edition: This is Microsoft’s version for large enterprises, offering higher security and remote management capabilities, suitable for enterprise users requiring大规模 deployment and management. Currently, the Enterprise edition remains at version 25H2, with further optimizations for virtualization support and device/user management.
For advanced system users, I recommend using the Enterprise edition, especially the Enterprise LTSC version. This version is essentially Microsoft’s officially streamlined system edition, with no redundant features, providing only the most basic system component services.
Additionally, due to its streamlined nature, the Enterprise edition ISO image is on average about 1GB smaller than regular ISO images.
It may be difficult to directly download the original Windows Enterprise edition ISO image from Microsoft’s official website. I recommend using the third-party massgravel team’s website to download the Enterprise edition system. The ISO downloads provided on this site are all original Microsoft versions and can be used with confidence.

Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) ISO Image
The LTSC version is a special edition Microsoft provides for enterprise users who desire long-term stability without frequent feature updates.
Features of the Enterprise LTSC version:
1. Stability: Enterprises have extremely high requirements for system stability. Microsoft promises at least 5 years of support for this version, and it will not receive frequent feature updates like other versions. This is crucial for enterprises that need to maintain long-term stable system operation.
2. Security: Although the LTSC version does not receive frequent feature updates, it will continue to receive Microsoft’s security patch support (security updates).

Installation / Upgrade Methods
In-place Upgrade
Within an existing Windows 11 system, mount the ISO or run the setup program (setup.exe). It will retain your personal files and applications and directly upgrade to 25H2.
Enablement Package Update
If you are already on version 24H2, Microsoft will provide an enablement package (eKB, e.g., KB5054156). Simply installing this package will “wake up” your system to 25H2 without requiring a full system replacement.
Clean Installation / Fresh Install
Use the ISO image to create a bootable USB drive, then perform a clean system installation or deploy on a new hard drive/partition.
