Learning Method

Please strictly follow the steps outlined in this tutorial, otherwise, it may likely fail!

Installing DeepFreeze

• Double-click to run DSFtd.exe
• Click Next → Accept the terms → Next → Select Evaluation Mode → Next → Keep newly discovered hard drives in a thawed state → Next → Install
• Wait a moment, and the computer will restart automatically

Please save your personal files before restarting!

Activating DeepFreeze

• After restarting, a pop-up window will ask whether to set a password. You may set one or skip it.
• Hold down the Shift key and double-click the DeepFreeze icon in the taskbar to open the control interface. Enter the password if prompted and confirm.
• Click “Boot Thawed” → “Apply and Reboot”. The computer will restart.
• Press the Windows logo key + R, type services.msc, and press Enter to open the Services window.
• Locate the DFServ service, click “Stop”, change the startup type to “Disabled”, and click “OK” to close the window.
• Restart the computer.
• After booting, open patch.exe, click “Patch”, and close the software.
• Press Win + R again, run services.msc, find the DFServ service, change the startup type back to “Automatic”, and click “OK”.
• Restart the computer.
• Hold down Shift and double-click the DeepFreeze icon in the taskbar. Enter the password and confirm.
• You should now see that DeepFreeze is permanently activated. It will display: Licensed (Permanent), Never Expires.

At this point, DeepFreeze is ready for normal use. Click “Boot Frozen” to freeze the system on the next startup.
